Well, journal, it seems that so much has happened in the past week. Nothing spectacularly important or amazing, but I have been actively trying to be more social. And surprisingly it has become easier over the past few days. Perhaps it is because of the amount of perfumes in the air, I have been feeling somewhat out of it... I made a new friend, Kandri, who is a sweetheart of a druid and absolutely lovely. She seems so sad and lonely, just like me... Although she has a rather irritating friend that likes to follow her around and ruins all conversations by humming and chewing gum loudly behind us. I plan on visiting her in Shattrath soon, if only to escape the city for awhile. I also spent all of the gold that I owned on a charity date auction. It was for a very good cause, and the woman that I bid on looked like she could use a bit of cheering up from a man that would not use the date as an excuse to grope her. She seemed very pleased, in fact, that I did not have any desire to use her like that. We have a date to go to Winterspring, as she has never seen snow before. Perfect time of the year to visit, I think! The snow should be beautiful for her to play in.
Onto the stranger aspects of my week. I saw the most peculiar thing in the tavern. Some man was braying loudly about how women were delicate flowers and needed to be respected and treated right, but the second a draenei woman offered to showcase her "skills" upstairs, he took off with her. They began to... perform sexual acts right there at a table in public where everyone could see, and afterwards she had the nerve to yell at me for commenting about the situation. I have no problem if people want to be prostitutes, I know that for some it is the only way to make a living, but in -public-? Where people have to be subjected to watch you make your money? It was vile and disgusting and makes me shudder to think about eating off of the tables in there ever again. The rest of the evening was lovely, though. I sat with a lovely human named Briele; we enjoyed mocking the righteous man with the hooker together. Through her I met quite a few tavern-goers and spent hours laughing and joking and telling stories. I saw one of the males from the other evening that ignored me; he sat and chatted with us, but I learned that he is sadly taken now. Such is my luck, I suppose. Perhaps I should simply give up on finding a male, and turn to females instead. Does it matter if I am not attracted to them? There are so many lonely females out there, I do not think one would mind having a relationship without sexual intimacy. Why am I even thinking about this? It's that stupid holiday, I swear.
Moving on... my leg and back braces are finally complete, and I have been getting around much better these days. It is a wonderful thing, to be able to walk around again! Progress has been slow, but my legs and back are growing strong everyday. I only need a cane instead of a full walking staff, and I have learned how to conjure a rather gorgeous one so that I limp in style.

He totally has a pimp cane.
He totally has a pimp cane. Just saying.
As for the comment below, that random RP we overheard pulled in SO much other RP. It became a running joke the entire night; Briele would joke about dragging Star off to showcase their skills, and Star would call her a little delicate flower. Over the 7 hours that I sat at that table in the tavern, so many people were pulled in by the retelling of the tale of the hooker that serviced the man upstairs. And... I have no idea where this was going. But yes, Random RP is soooo awesome and builds so many new stories, I love it. One of the reason I love playing an elf - when he says "I couldn't help but overhear-" people don't doubt it. Dem ears, man.

I love when people have the balls to write journal blogs that include random RP that they witnessed. It's such a break from the confined, controlled feeling that a lot of writing has when the writer is working alone and making every decision. Nothing wrong with it, but to cut loose and let your characters acknowledge some crazy random happenstances just gives the writing some vibrancy sometimes. It's the whole point of RP, that you give and you take.
