Punishment

Storyline:

Sanimir Lightmist glowered as he lowered his hands in the hot, soapy water and started scrubbing.  That girl had pulled a knife on him and no one would listen to him.  What if she had stabbed him?  He could have died, and he was the one being punished!

He was unsure what, if anything, was done to punish the girl.  He hoped she was getting what she deserved.  They had taken her to a separate room while they questioned him.  He saw someone go in as they prepared to escort him home.  She could have killed him.

Why did he still wish he could talk to her?

The water blackened as he scrubbed the dried burnt food off the surface of the pans.  He had tried to warn her.  Falling in love with your instructor was foolish.  Although he knew many instructors that used their apprentices in such a manner, moving on to the next one after one was finished studying.  He told her as much, but she didn’t believe him.  She was very new to Dalaran.  A kaldorei girl, not even one of the Highborne, come to study magic.  She seemed very young as well, although Sanimir’s only contact with Kalimdor elves had only been with Highborne previous to her so he was at a loss to guess at her age.  All the same, she likely didn’t know that some instructors would do that, and her instructor certainly was.

Magister Daymark had been less than pleased with his apprentice coming home, escorted by a guard.  No one believed him when he said that she was going to stab him.  And now he was receiving punishment, simply because he tried to warn her.  He pulled another pan up out of the water and began to scrub.  Master Daymark had sent him to help out in the kitchen of one inns today.  He had received a long lecture about being serious in his studies.  At least he wasn’t turned into a frog this time, which is what Master Daymark had done the last time Sanimir had pursued a girl instead of paying attention to his lessons.

Tonight and tomorrow would be his real punishment.  These dishes were nothing.
