Journal of a blood elf: Unexpected company

Trust the unexpected to happen time and time again in these... desperate times.

A highborne Night Elf. Of all things to run into in the Stonetalon mountains. She caught me rather unawares. I can understand precious little of what she says, since our language does have some common roots, but her accent also makes it difficult. It's not like the voice of my own people, it's lower, spoken in almost whispering tones.

She seems to have been rather isolated for...quite a while. No surprise, what with being a highborne newly emerged into the world. This Kaldorei is practically bristling with raw arcane power, like some sort of battery almost. It is for that reason I have lured her into a false sense of security, and we have begun travelling together through the few neutral areas here. She offered me the chance to tap some of that power...and show me several ley lines, smaller ones, drifting around Kalmdor. In return for protection. What an oppurtunity!

Many of my personal effects and other general gear is still stuck in Orgrimmar. It smells bad there. It smells like sweat in the buildings, and unwashed barbarian body. The streets smell like smoke and oil. And the dirt...the dirt is everywhere! It tracks everywhere you go, even in the buildings. Such a dirty place, unlike Quel'thalas. The desert has... some beauty to it, but it is shadowed by the heat and filthiness of the whole affair. I should try to make my way to some of the more temperate areas here in Kalimdor.
