Born to Cin'daras Sunsilver and Amoria Dawnfire, Elarian was abandoned at a young age and raised within the old Silvermoon Orphanage. It was originally thought that he was abandoned for being a pre-marital child, but later revealed the main reason to be his father's involvement in the Magistry and the Council of Tirisfal. However, he was far from forgotten about. He was one day approached by one of the few Quel'dorei that studied at the University of Dalaran at the time, and invited to come to the university to study the Arcane arts under him. Elarian would later found out that this happened by way of his father, who had made quite a few Human connections within the Council of Tirisfal. Elarian spent the next few years of his life studying at the university, despite being one of the very few Quel'dorei there, and graduated with a high GPA. He would then return to Silvermoon to serve as an Arcanist under the Magistry, where he would eventually learn of his heritage upon meeting his father.
During the Second War, Elarian returned to Dalaran to serve the Kirin Tor once more as a Battlemage. Afterward, he would stay in Dalaran until the Third War, where he returned to Silvermoon to help defend his homeland of Quel'Thalas. Escaping both the fall of Silvermoon and Dalaran, he ventured to Kalimdor to assist in the war effort there. Following the war's conclusion, went with many of the other Dalaran refugees to live in Stormwind. Elarian was not here for long, as he would soon join the Sin'dorei in the retaking and rebuilding of Quel'Thalas and Silvermoon. However, due to his refusal to use Fel as a source of magical energy, his eyes always remained blue. Eventually, when green glowing eyes became a standard for distinguishing Blood Elves from High Elves, Elarian was forced to leave Quel'Thalas in a de-facto manner. After his exile, he returned to Dalaran to assist in the rebuilding, before being sent on behalf of the Kirin Tor to assist in the Outland War. During his stay in the ruins of Draenor, he began assisting the Scryers in combating the forces of Kael'thas Sunstrider. When Sunstrider and his forces were defeated at Tempest Keep, Elarian returned to Dalaran to help finish the final stages in the city's rebuilding.
Sometime after the city was rebuilt and moved above Northrend, he was made an Archmage of the Kirin Tor for both his ability and service to the Kirin Tor over the years. During the offensive in Northrend, Elarian served a great deal in combating the Blue Dragonflight in the Nexus War. He is perhaps most famed for his defeat over the Nexus Grand Magus, Solinar Bloodmoon, which nearly cost Elarian his life. After the Cataclysm, Elarian took to combating the cultists of the Twilight's Hammer Clan. However, upon meeting and falling in love with Testra Hawkstream, he has retired himself from the battlefield for the most part, especially after receiving word that he would soon be a father. Elarian is currently awaiting the birth of his first child.
