Something about this death knight just isn’t very intimidating. His fierce blue eyes seem to glow a little dimmer than the average death knight's, and are softened by the fact that he almost always has subdued expression, frequently smiling gently at new acquaintances. He can still be plenty intimidating when he pleases, however, since he must have been a lumberjack in life, and has the bulk to prove it.
Despite being dead, he still appears to breathe. He also seems to, oddly, smell of vanilla soap as opposed to ‘death’. There’s not a sign of decay on him. Should one see him without his shirt, he has a massive scar on his chest, with a matching one on his back, which could only have been from a very large blade.
Jax doesn't know much about his history aside from waking up one day as a death knight. He has good evidence to support that he was a Scarlet in life, but any details other than that were lost when he died. Once he was freed from the Lich King's control, he found himself lost in a world he didn't understand, and eventually, thanks to his slightly less dead than average physiology, ended up turning to drugs and mind altering substances instead of dealing with un-life.
He's perpetually broke, especially since he refuses to take violent mercenary type jobs, instead to make money he carves gems. He seems to have an artistic streak, and an uncanny ability to carve with great accuracy, a skill he attributes to being undead and the steady hands it brings. Then, as fate would have it, Deathwing had to show up and blow up his apartment, so now he's even more down on his luck.
Jax hoped this was the last cold snap before spring. Sometimes if he spent too much time outside he could feel his limbs stiffening up, the sludge slowly solidifying in his dead veins. But it was never anything even comparable to the cold of Northrend, and even that bitter ice didn’t really bother him. A few occasions he felt terribly guilty, as he sat focused too hard on his carvings to notice his poor little dog starting to shiver beside him.
Jax sat alone in the recluse, studying his drink intently. Pringle was staying at his friend’s place for the evening. Hopefully, sometime soon, he’d be able to afford an apartment again. Though the rent in Stormwind was outrageous, he didn’t know where else to go.
