Marius is a tall, elder man with tattered ears, strong features, and a body shaped by warfare and battlemending. Crow's feet and deep lines frame an often-thoughtful expression, though he rarely seems particularly troubled. Coarse, weather-beaten hair and lived-in clothing betray a busy lifestyle ripe with the complications of leadership and determination, but as run-down as he sometimes appears he carries himself with straight-backed confidence and a clear, deep voice.
Marius is an old man with a rather long history, and he doesn't seem oft-inclined to share it unless directly questioned.
The man is old, and he stands alone. He is dressed in dark regalia that does not betray his trade. It is the color of mourning, black and bruise-blue, and the carved likeness of twin faces-- blind sisters-- crown the berth of each shoulder. It hangs from his long limbs, too loose, meant for his likeness; For the man that was thicker, and stronger, and that filled the seams to shape. When he ghosts across the square, he is watched by those that know him. He is loved and pitied. His eyes still burn as gold as a dying sun.
Love is a universal catalyst ~~~~~~~~~~ By most accounts, they were polar opposites. Alexandria was loud, gregarious and excitable where Marius was quiet, reserved and deadpan, and the transition from friend to mate hadn't come as suddenly as reflection might suggest. One day, Marius took her hand atop a snow-covered vista and felt her fingers quiver with more than the aching cold. That was the day he'd realized he was in love with her-- And had been, for a very long time.
