Vaelarian crouched in the bushes near the river as the late afternoon sun peeked through the tree branches into the sandy clearing before him. He held his daggers ready in his hands as he watched the river.
Vael has a bath and some time to think after receiving a letter from his granddaughter.

Vaelarian Ashclaw sat on the small cot, leaning back against the wall, reading one of the books the guards had brought to him from the library upstairs. This one was about the geography of Northrend, from Borean Tundra to Howling Fjord. He found it only mildly interesting, but he had nothing else to do so he continued to read it.
He had other people to deal with. Raisse, or Irithyl Winterstar as she was known, was at the top of that list. The sooner he dealt with her, the better.
Vaelarian had finished setting up his camp. He had, thankfully, been able to find a quieter spot, and now with a tent, he didn’t have to worry about the rain so much either.
Vaelarian’s first day staying in Sholazar Basin did not go quite as he had planned.
Vaelarian waited in the lounge all evening without seeing Lali, that blood elf, or any of their friends. When he approached the house, he noted the windows were dark. They were probably sleeping. He took paper out of his pack and scribbled a note quickly.
Vaelarian Ashclaw woke early in the morning. The night before, he had stopped by the house where his grand-daughter and that blood elf lived. She had been worried about him enough to convince the inn to let her into his room to leave a note for him. He hadn’t meant to worry her, but circumstances had kept him busier than he had thought he would be
Vaelarian hated going to that blood elf’s home. He knew the doors were covered in magical traps. Elune only knew what else was.
