Aenni's small leatherbound book (9)
Dear diary,
I really wish bad things would stop happening to the Academy. Found out on Tuesday that the Headmistress had disappeared, and that the Guard thinks that something bad happened to her. Don't know any details beyond that, though. Just know that they've been busy with their investigation and that we all had to return home early Monday night. Dean Amberstar's been named temporary Headmaster--at least I hope it's only temporary! I just hope the Guard can find the Headmistress soon and that she's okay--and then that the bad stuff stops happening.
Been kinda busy the last couple of days, between classes and deliveries and talking to people. Saw Professor Sunfire on Tuesday night when I was walking in Murder Row. What I was doing there, I don't know--guess I was just walking around and not really paying attention where I was going, or something. We talked for a while about different stuff--started by talking about what had been going on for the past day or so within the Academy, then he started telling me about what happened in his past. Said he used to be a mercenary working out of Booty Bay and that the orcs in Grom'gol betrayed him somehow, said someone close to him died because of that betrayal. Said there was some other stuff that happened that he refused to talk about, and seemed really surprised when he realized that he was telling me about that stuff when he was sober. Our talk got cut short when we heard stuff over the hearthstone, though--we both heard the Tauren guard yelling at Keysnol like he thought he was responsible for what happened on Monday. Sounded almost like the guard was threatening to kill him, too--but he didn't. Saw Keysnol yesterday night, and he looked like he was okay. Told the Professor afterwards that the Tauren wasn't someone to mess with, that he could get rather protective of his charges.
Met a couple of new people later that night. Seems there's a new person in the Guard--I think he said his name was Alerin? He told me that he was new to the Academy and that it was his first night on duty. Said that he was planning on taking some classes in the Arms college while he was there, and that he really likes to cook--sometimes a little too much, as he seems to like to cook for 15 or 20 people when he only needed to cook for two! I told him that maybe he needed to think about doing a dinner party sometime, and he agreed. Said I'd be invited when he decided to do one.
Also saw Professor Bloodthorn later that night. We had met briefly once before, but we weren't really able to talk that time. This time we got to talk a bit more. Found out that he's a priest and that he's part of the Crusade in Northrend and that's he's only a part-time professor because of it. Told me that he's teaching classes in the Arms college, and that he considered teaching in Magistry but decided not to because his way of casting is somewhat unusual. Seems that we're both artists, but that his talent lies in music instead of drawing or painting--I saw the harp he carries with him, and he told me that he uses his music to help him cast his spells. Asked him if I could hear his music sometime, and he said he'd be more than happy to do that so long as I showed him some of my artwork. Told him I'd be more than happy to do that, sometime.
Speaking of showing people artwork--I finally was able to show the Magister some stuff last night. Showed him mostly landscapes--Eversong and the central temple in Zul'Gurub and a pair of scenes from Blackrock--but I also showed him a portrait of several people I've met since starting classes at the Academy. He seemed really impressed with everything I showed him, and he asked me quite a few questions about my artwork--what mediums did I usually work with, if I preferred painting landscapes or portraits, stuff like that. He also asked me a little bit about the last expedition I went on with the Sunsail after seeing one of the oil paintings--the one of the Steppes as seen from the balcony of the old orc base. I think he would've liked to have seen some of my other stuff if he had more time, and he did tell me that he was thinking about asking for a commission sometime in the future. That would be fun--doing one for him. Wonder what he would want me to do?
