Cadence's Journal, Entry I

 The first few pages have been torn out and, presumably, stored elsewhere.  The first page is a bit sloppy, the handwriting shaky and uneven.

They're all involved.  I was a  I'm not sure I can trust anyone in this city anymore.  How many of them have ties?  How many of them lie, steal, cheat and corrupt on a daily basis?

And what have I gotten myself into

I must remain steadfast.  Light knows my faith is the only thing that's going to get me through this.  I can't tell any of my friends my family what's to come, but I 

That man, Miles Campion  The Scarlet  Sir Campion: I don't know what to make of him, but right now he's my only  the closest thing I have to an ally in this wolves' den.

The other, I think it was Nathan or something similar - I met him in the Recluse and he pretended to know NOTHING of  Eri

He lied to me.

And then he sat there and looked at me as though he'd done nothing wrong, and I can't stand the look in his eyes 

There's a significant slash in the center of the page separating the halves.  It ends in a messy ink stain, as though the quill had been pressed a bit too hard.

Respect

I must respect those around me, even though their motives and actions may give me pause.  

Tenacity

I must remain undeterred in my service to the Light; though this may seem a setback, it may prove to be where I'm most needed.

Compassion

Only through Compassion may I truly serve the Light.  I must set aside my personal
