What Race would you like to see as Playable?

I had a dream once where wintersabers were player models. I fully admit that I would play an expac where I could be that or a DARGON or something (sans vial of the sands) in an instant.

I would rp all the time with only myself eating sheep and it would be glorious.

...In marginally less absurd things: I'd love Ethereals.

What I'd really love to see is alternate skins for the already existing races.  Such an Taunka or Mag'har.  Or, y'know, have actual Quel'dorei in the Alliance.

Tol'vir would be awesome too but I can't see them joining either side.  Ever.  Then again they could just do it like they're doing with the Pandaren.

Quel'dorei for Alliance and Mag'har for the Horde. My only qualms over high elf options is the server/factions turning into World of Elfyelfelfelf.

Broken draenei would be awesome along with taunka.

I'm not really pleased over the pandaren thing when Azeroth still has many other race options.

But in the end, I'd take getting the existing races remodeled over new races any day.

Naga please. I think armour would be awesome for them, cause then when I equip boots it'll just be one boot stuck on the end of my character's tail. Females would get 4 arms though, which might get out of hand...

Also... I would like to see Vrykul. Leaning towards alliance with them. Perhaps some alliance missionary converted them to the light after the war in Northrend...  They could be druids! Giant bear form :D

Horde can have tuskar if Alliance gets Vrykul.

I always ask 'When will murlocs be a playable race?' in it.

oh god i want ethereals so baaaaaadly. 

i reaaaaally don't want quel'dorei for alliance. it would be 100% elves, 100% of the time. (i have nothing against elves at all, but i could see it becoming this thing where all the omg kael'thas loyalists stay horde while all the omg holy light elves jump alliance and it'd get watered down on both sides, instead of keeping the blood elves as this diverse mix of opinions and beliefs.) plus how few of them there are left, i dont know if that'd plausibly count as a race. that said, i think orcs should have the option of picking maghar skins.

i'd rather see new races all together. i don't want them to just redo outland, i want to go somewhere else after MoP. Off of Azeroth again. And if we had some kind of Twisting Nether expac, the possibilities are really endless. We could have two completely fresh races that look nothing like what we have so far.

It'd be super cool if they updated character models and gave us all the different skins! Trolls have a number of skin color options not being used (owing to them belonging to non-player tribes). As do dwarves, orcs, etc. If they did that, though, I'd like it if the barbershop got an update to let players do recustomization that isn't a name or faction change.

As for new playable races... uhhh. Lots of cool ideas. Naga and ethereal get my vote. Either one might be problematic for adapting gear and mounts, but if done right, it would be hella cool. I definitely want to know (and see) where the ethereal are if they're not in Outland or capital cities making huge profits.

Throwing in my vote for "no quel'dorei". There's an overwhelming number of blood elves being played Horde-side on any server--to the point that it can be hard to find RP if you're playing a character who wouldn't be found at tea parties. If anything, maybe storylines can lead up to h.elves and b.elves continuing to be frienemies to the point that the barbershop could add blue eye options and justifiable reasons for players to dabble in those politics in the middle of SMC. ...That is just a 2:43am thought, mind, and is in no way meant to be a deep, coherent thesis on elf lore and What Should Be Done With It (as I know it's not that simple).

Drakes.  I don't actually want to play them, but I do want to see what happens when they're made widely available.  Will they still be special, or will players latch onto a new unavailable race?

So, new races. I dunno -- personally I would just prefer a revamp of all the current races. Little things like newer models, different hair, maybe even something like a body slider (maybe, I don't know, wrists?). Just so all the men stop looking like total hairlips. Different skin tones, etc. Also the ability to have racial variants like leper gnome skins, different dwarves, different orcs, broken, taunka, different troll tribes, blah blah blah. 

BUT, what I think would actually really benefit Wow with MoP would be the creation of a neutral faction or.. just another faction in general. One that could contain the pandas, maybe etherals, maybe dryads or centaurs. It would be a neat idea, considering the war between alliance and horde is supposed to be intensifying, having an outside faction might add to game play and plot. I would love Vykrul because tattoos and awesome hair and bad ass ladies. I would love etherals because oh man, how colorful and interesting! And y'know, we've had dryads and centaurs running around forever. 

I WANT IT ALL.

Gnolls. Hyenas are basically the coolest, and gnolls are hyena people. Plus, it's obvious they've already got a lot of class options represented in-game - shaman, warrior, rogue, warlock, and hunter at least. I think they'd fit pretty damn well into Garrosh's Horde, too. Failing that, Ethereal is the low-hanging fruit and I would pluck that so hard. Naga is another fun option!

I want me some Arakkoa. The ones in Shattrath aren't so bad, and they're following the light, so I could easily see them throwing in with the Alliance. Or they could sign on with the Horde in a sort of "Outland solidarity pact" with the orcs.

I also once had a fun idea that Kul Tiras could be brought into the game as a battleground with the humans of the nation siding with the Horde and the elves there going alliance. Yeah, as everyone's said there'd be a sudden explosion in elves alliance-side, and the humans of Kul Tiras were probably among the nations that wanted to put all the orcs to death after the second war, so that probably wouldn't happen. I just want to see Kul Tiras.

Regarding elves switching sides. What if there were a world event....whereby a great political upheaval shook Silvermoon to its foundation....and basically the mages and magisters and fel sorts declared all the Light-wielders traitors and threw them out of the city? There would be this whole crazy mess where belf paladins and priests would suddenly find themselves either neutral or allyside, the situation maybe or maybe not ever to reverse itself....all would still speak Thalassian so the cross faction communication barrier wouldn't be an issue.....ok this is the most ridiculous thing i've EVER written.

Okay I'm sold. And you could do so much interesting stuff with their culture if you wanted to given hyenas' matriarchal system and intense violent competition between babies and and and.

Fel taint takes a LONG time to fade, as we've seen with the orcs, and we still have the giant fel crystals in SMC that people are still draining - yes I know, this is probably in large part because the city hasn't been updated since BC, but for the moment it's still there. Their arcane needs might be met again, but idk I always treated fel addiction as separate from mana addiction so I think it would make sense you'd have a lot recovering and not-recovering fel addict belves still.

I want me some Arakkoa.

I am secretly a huuuuuge centaur fangirl and I would play the shit out of one.  I wish.  (Did anyone else ever read 'Mus of Kerbridge'?  This is where my love came from).

Naga, Tol'vir, and VRYKULS! God, Vrykuls are first on my list as a race I want to play. I love their lore, and whole viking-ness. Plus their designs are really nice and don't need updating. 

I love the idea of playable centaurs, but only if Blizzard really nailed the animations right. They so far haven't gotten regular horse animations down perfect. But I guess I nitpick because I'm a horse lover. XD

Personally though, I would LOVE to play a Tuskarr. I've loved that race since I first saw them in Northrend. I think the panda men and the walrus men would get along pretty well culture-wise. XD

Vyrkuls would be BOSS because they're, in my opinion, the best animated race that Blizz has made.
