Raleth glanced out onto the patio to check on Lali. He wasn’t very surprised to see that the kittens were helping. One lay across her open book, one batted at each of her feet, one on the table, and he could only guess that the other two were hiding somewhere in her robes.
“How’s your practice coming along?” he grinned, leaning against the doorway.
“Oh!” Lali hastily herded the kittens back onto the floor guiltily. “I am! I mean, I was, but they wanted to help and then I got distracted.”

Though she knew it was time for Magnolia to leave, it felt like giving up. Over the past few days, despite the constant attentions from the priest, and Risarra’s gentle tending, the saber had slipped further from life. Her sleek, velvet fur was mussed and her whiskers stood out at crooked angles. The saber showed no interest in any food — not the fresh rabbits that Zhyra had brought, nor the silvery trout from the stream, not even the venison that one of the draenei hunters had brought. If Magnolia herself was ready to go, why was it so difficult to accept?

“Min’da min’da min’da. No.”
They were Relanos’s two favorite words. “An’da” ranked somewhere in the top three as well, but today his An’da had left his favorite fishing partner behind. The baby was fast approaching his second birthday, and Tathariel found that “baby” didn’t properly fit him anymore. He could walk — and run — on his own, and knew enough words to make his intentions known.

Raleth glanced out onto the patio, warmed by the bright spring sunshine. Though the past few days had been cloudy, today was brilliant and a perfect day to practice her studies. She’d diligently resumed her lessons after they returned from their trip. Currently, she was working to change the property of her summoned flame — color, Raleth had decided. It might sound arbitrary, and she had even asked — why? — but the point of the lesson was to alter the flame while still maintaining it. This would become important later on, when several different properties would change.
