Physical Appearance

By the time you've noticed Ansuzthorn silently stepping out from the shadows, this charmingly enigmatic forty-five year old gnome has most likely already begun ingratiating himself upon you under questionable pretenses and has quite possibly helped himself to the contents of your change purse, if you're not the sort to pay close attention to such matters. He's a bit more slender and athletic than your average garden variety gnome, noticeably short in stature for a male of even his own race, and very slightly tanned. No major scars are visible, but it's not uncommon for him to be found sporting fresh cuts and bruises, almost as though he frequently engages in more rigorous endeavors than he lets on. But that would, of course, be quite absurd, wouldn't it?
Ansuzthorn's voice, accent, and overall mannerisms tend to resemble those of a human more than one of his own kind.

Personality

Ansuzthorn is driven by the same insatiable curiosity as other gnomes, but he doesn't share their fascination for technology or magic, finding the former "abominable" and the latter "notoriously unreliable."
He's more interested in exploring the world and the beings who occupy it. Roaming from one region to the next with no firm allegiance or moral code, he's accumulated both friends and enemies within nearly every race and faction in Azeroth.
The only form of currency he truly covets is information, particularly secrets.
He denies rumors of having ever been even loosely affiliated with SI:7, the Ravenholdt Assassin's League, or any organizations of lesser repute, but when he advertises his services as a "courier, trader of rare merchandise, expert treasure hunter, explorer, guide, and discreet problem solver," it's probably safe to assume that he means "smuggler, thief, spy, mercenary, and assassin."
His only known weakness is his tendency to fall in love with every female he meets.

History

It's clear that Ansuzthorn left his home in Gnomeregan at a fairly early age and has been wandering around on his own ever since, but his habit of lying about where he has or hasn't been and who he does or doesn't know makes it difficult to pin down any further details.
That he has often been in the employ of the Steamwheedle Cartel is a matter of public record, but the precise nature of his work, like most aspects of his life, is a secret.
