Physical Appearance

Marius isn't always recognizable as the classic 'Holy Priest'. He's over four-hundred and fifty pounds of toned brawler's physique, layered over a body that is inevitably learning to accept the frailties of age. Dim golden eyes smolder like dying embers in the brightest sun, and his features- a roadmap of world-weary destinations and goals- might have been handsome, once. Both ears are near tatters: His right is clipped with large, unsightly holes and riddled with tiny scars, and his left is simply halved. Deep lines score his eyes, accompanying the sharpness of a bold jaw and the just-full plushness of still-soft lips. His smile tends to look a little awkward unless it's fake; As if he's better trained at playing facades than actual mirth. Strong, seasoned hands are adorned with well-tended claws that are a practical, vicious means of self-defense. Marius is a terrible offensive caster, and has always relied on physical strength to supplement his painfully underwhelming magical prowess. He moves easily, assuredly, surprised now-and-then by a crick or a crack he was unprepared to feel and hear.

History

Marius is an old man with a long history, and on inquiry-- is liable to smile and laugh, or make some nonsensical remark about his age. He sees little reason to revisit the past when the future is so painfully captivating.

Personality

Marius is rather dull at first glance. He has a curiously paternal nature despite an uneasy relationship with children, and a dynamic baritone of a voice that's capable of deceptive, soft whispers and the booming volume of telling anger. Blunt to a fault and wickedly sarcastic, the duality of his nature can be hard to ground. Marius will just as quickly assault a man with double-edged words as offer him a genuine hand from the depths of Rock Bottom, and is perhaps too-used to being the most level head in a room. He's accustomed to acting with the reigns of authority, and poorly-inclined to share responsibilities he deems too burdensome for others to handle simply for lack of trust.

"If you want something done..."

Do it yourself. He's meddlesome, constantly thrusting his nose into the problematic world around him, yet (usually) capable of juggling these affairs with dedicated patience and an earnest desire to better the situation. A revolutionary's heart beats wildly in his chest, and his quest for change has kindled wholesome, loyal friendships and the most bitter of boiling hatreds. Curiously pessimistic optimism guides Marius from endeavor to endeavor, wherein his hell-bent determination seems to be an ever-infallible, dominating aspect of a personality that expects (-and takes) the worst life can offer without appearing to lose sight of how precious it actually is.

If only his pride could handle being afraid of Mechanostriders.
